Hello, everyone! My name is Collin Robert! I was born July 5, 2008 at 11:16 am, and weighed 7lbs 2 oz, and measured 20inches long. I'm growing really quickly already! Mom set up this website for me, so I can keep all my friends and family updated on how I am doing. Everyone tells me I have a BIG family. I can't wait to meet you all!
Collin is 2 months old today. Time goes by REALLY fast these days. I blinked, and a month went by. How does that happen exactly?
I went back to work on August 25, and Collin has been in private daycare with a really nice lady that lives just a few miles from here. I know he really likes it, because he gives her big smiles when he sees her. It’s good he likes her, but….waaaaah! He likes her! What if he thinks she is his mom, not me? Waaaaaaaah!
Right now the diaper dude is in his bouncy chair, having a great time watching the toys move around. He’s REALLY started to enjoy his toys over the last 2 weeks. He wiggles and laughs and talks to the toys until he wears himself out and either falls asleep in front of them, or gets so wound up, I have to take him away from the toys and put him someplace less stimulating.
He is smiling a *lot* now. It’s really nice and so much fun. He giggles often, and is holding his head up really well now. And he sleeps through the night! He takes a last bottle about midnight, and usually doesn’t wake up looking for another until around 8 am. He’s such an easy going little baby, I can’t believe it.
My aunt sent Collin a play pen and a play mat, that are now occupying my livingroom, in addition to a crib, a high chair, a baby swing, a car seat, a bouncy chair, and a diaper bag, along with a few hundred toys. It looks like romper room threw up in my apartment.
When exactly did this become my life? (I know, I know, July 5…it was a rhetorical question).
Collin had a doctor appointment today. He weighs 9lbs 7.5 oz, and is 20.5 inches long. Growing, growing, growing!
Collin is 1 month old today! It’s crazy how fast time has gone by and how much he has grown. He no longer fits into his newborn clothes, including the outfit he wore home from the hospital. (*sob*). Daddy put together the crib a few nights ago, and we’re in the process of getting Collin acclimated to sleeping in his “big boy bed”. The first night he slept in it, he would wake up and cry every 40 minutes, as if he didn’t know where he was. I’d have to come by and snuggle him for a minute, then put him back to bed. I guess he just needed the reassurance that even though bed was different, everything else at home was not, and we’d still be there to snuggle with him.
He’s much more alert and awake during the day, and is starting to enjoy being in his bouncy chair. He’s beginning to reach out for toys, too. We were playing with some little jingly toys yesterday, and Collin would reach out and grab on to the duck toy and look SO surprised and happy when he’d actually connect with the toy. He’s been trying so hard to pick up his head and look around, and can roll on to his side now.
Here’s a very short video I took with my camera today, of Collin playing in his bouncy chair. The video isn’t the greatest, but it’s all I’ve got!
Collin had his first bath yesterday. He was remarkably calm for it. I expected a lot of screaming and crying, but instead all I got was a disgruntled look from The Elfkin. After his bath, his daddy dried him off and got him dressed. What a cute baby!
Today we went for a walk around the neighborhood. Collin’s been spending more and more time awake during the day, so I thought he might enjoy being outside and “seeing” something different. Of course, he slept through the entire walk. Oh well. We sat on a bench outside Walgreen’s, where I fed him, so that was a different experience for him, at least.
